Live Like a Local in The Hamptons

Nadia Zaidi is a mom of 2 girls from the Upper West Side and host of The Crystal Drive Residence in East Hampton. She gives us the low-down on the best things to do and places to go to live like a local in The Hamptons.

Breakfast

Most places in the area are grab and go but there are also lovely dine-in spots.

Beaches

  • Main Beach in East Hampton – open to public with paid parking. Visit on Tuesday nights for Music on the Beach with live bands and family fun.
  • The smaller beaches are for residents only until 4pm. I recommend you go after 4pm to see the sunset – it’s lovely! My favorites are Georgica and Indian Wells.
  • Montauk – the lighthouse is fun for the kids and you can make a morning of it. Tip: get tickets in advance! Montauk also has a bunch of lobster stands, a cute main street and old school candy shop.

Activities

Kids in a soft play in the Children's Museum in the Hamptons.

Shopping

Southampton has the largest main street, but East Hampton and Amagansett also have some fun shopping, including: The Row, Chanel, Suzi Kondi, Goop, Jenni Kayne, Alex Mills, Reformation, Unsubscribed, Eres and more!
